Now in its second year, Building Test Expo has established itself as the centrepiece of this fast moving industry. The launch show in Cologne in June 2013 gave building test disciplines from many different countries the chance to come together for 3 days of knowledge sharing under one roof. Now the spotlight falls upon Brussels, 17 – 19 June 2014, an exciting new host city with obvious benefits to a Europe-wide market.

Building Test Expo and the European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA) are partnering in 2014 to bring two important industry meetings together, for a more communicative approach to distribute updates on the progress and adoption of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) throughout the EU during Building Test Expo 2014.
Construction Products Regulation
From 1 July 2013, under the Construction Products Regulation 2011, it has become mandatory for manufacturers to apply CE marking to any of their products which are covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) or European Technical Assessment (ETA).
CPR: what happens next?
Building Test Expo 2014 will take place after the CPR has been in place for almost a year. The transition from the former legislation, the Construction Products Directive, to the Construction Products Regulation affects the supply and certification of all construction products, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. EOTA are responsible for this new legislation and will be presenting the most pertinent and up-to-date information during the free-to-attend Open Tech Forum at Building Test Expo 2014.
“It is an invaluable opportunity for us to have a much more communicative approach and a good way to distribute our messages and information. It is good timing too because by next year we will have improved and perfected our procedures in the new context defined by the CPR, and we look forward to making contact with a wide range of professionals in the construction industry.”
